We are partnering with TTI in Kanataka. The mission is led by Saheb Jan Borgall whose wife Rita provides much of the administrative support. There are more than 30 missionaries in about ten mission fields
Their vision is to take the good news of Jesus to tribal people in remote villages who will otherwise never hear. These people are mostly poor and are excluded from society, ignored by the authorities and denied basic services like medical care and education. The Christian gospel brings them practical help as well as dignity and value.
The missionaries visit the villages, usually on bikes, to meet people and tell them about the Lord Jesus. Often people have great needs but the missionaries are poor themselves and so they pray with people about their circumstances and ask for healing from disease. There have been many wonderful answers to prayer and many people have put their faith in God because they have seen him work very powerfully. In some centres TTI have started schools and provided basic medical care.
When people put their faith in Christ they are formed into “Christ Worshipping Groups.” Often consisting of family members and close friends who have been won to Christ they meet to worship and read the bible, if they have one! A missionary visits to teach and encourage them and the groups grow as other people in the village are converted. In Chikkerur these groups have swelled to become a sizeable church.
